Scarlett Hearts

You should know by now that I love my unique pieces of jewellery as I like buying something I feel a connection too. Don't get me wrong I will buy accessories from every high street store known to man, but I prefer finding pieces that I really like i.e. Danielle Stevens, Sweet Lily Sparkles and now Scarlett Hearts.

The gemstone collar is super cute and it's one of the new trends we've seen creeping in recently.

I did get my pieces just in time for Manchester Fashion Week and so here I am.

By the way it is very hard to take a picture of yourself this way and yes my hair does look different.
Here I am wearing New Look dress, Eve's legwear tights, River Island shoes, Nica satchel bag, a random jumper because i wanted colour that day and my Scarlett Hearts glasses necklace. It was beyond freezing in that place and so jumpers were a must have.

There's a lot of Keep Calm and (varying last words) items in circulation at the moment, but I really liked this necklace and all items come in these little pouches. Cuteness!!
 

I don't normally go for jewellery with very long chains but for these pieces I didn't mind and i've tried to get as close as I can but still keeping the words in focus.

The odd nails are because I took these whilst styling my nails for the MUA crackle varnish (which is awesome by the way.) Ride my Bike can be brought for £4.50.

Love Hearts

 Me and my Love Heart

It's great when your a kid and your given 50p and told you can buy sweets with it, you get that sudden rush of power and importance and no matter what you buy they taste great simply because YOU brought them. As you get older money becomes something that hopefully we have but 50p may be loose change in our bag instead of the highlight of our day.

To be realistic in todays economy 50p really doesn't get you much, but it's more the excitement then the haul - except on halloween because then its all about how much you get-, what i do like though is when something small brings back a memory and makes you feel small and young again. You know what i mean a bit of n-sync comes on the radio and before you know it you have the image of you and a hairbrush and a couple of your gal pals throwing some serious dance moves in your bedroom or a bit of spice girls giving you back your swagger for a minute or two, strike a pose and ..... girl power!!

My moment came when choosing the favours for my wedding and finding that some places did little packs of love hearts with phrases such 'mr and mrs' and 'forever' carved into the sweet. I got more excited over the fact they were love hearts then all of the other favours and even though i didn't choose them for my 'perfect day' i started longing for some love hearts.

To get to the fashion point of this piece more and more people are cottoning on to the notion that sweets can be the basis for many types of art, jewellry and make up designs.

I have used 5 of the 6 colours above as i wanted the brightest ones to show off in this rare pout of heat Britain is having at the moment. Apart from my son trying to eat them they have gone down well with people commenting how colourful and fun they look. However, if i was at work i culd tone it down to one or two shades, then again if i was going out i could add some marbling or nail wraps... maybe even some liner as art, but i will do another piece on that soon enough.

My Keep Cool picture was very simple to do as a couple of friends have liked it. It was done with MAC embrace me lip liner and dazzleglass gloss over the top. It's nice as the liner is bright and under a gloss brings out a pink/coral tone depending on the shade.

In my case both were brought from the display in my local MAC as they've both just come out. So experiment with these of the MUA glosses which maybe in a balm tin, but they spread like gloss so apply a little and add what you need as you go.

The Quad of jewels, sparkle and Giveaways Feb'12

Recently there has been more of a demand for 'bling' on everything from phone cases, to shoes to bags and accessories. It seems everybody wants a little bit of sparkle in their lives in one way or another. Four individual designers with a range of skills @powercouture @crystalise_btq @lolabracelets and @SweetLilySparkl have teamed together to help eachother out, and give out some free goodies along the way. I am of course always onboard with free goodies - just for the record haha.

However, to get to the point these designers are only going to become more in demand with their bespoke designs and takes on their mechandise. Below i have highlighted some of their work so you can see and judge for yourself, and who knows a little Valentine's Day pressie to yourself may find its way into your basket, because lets face it you may love your partner, kids and friends but only you can pick out 'THE' item when shopping.

Sparkly bracelets are one thing, but Crystalise Boutique take 'sparkle' to the next level. 'You're not accessorised until you crystalise,' delivers a way for you to have every accessory from shoes, to lighters to i-pad cases crystalised to your liking. Yes it does look slightly kitsch, but that it what people want, individualised, themed and sparkly and let's face it, no-one can so no to a bit of barbie.

Last but by no means least allow me to introduce you to Power Couture. They are probably the most famous of the four due to the bespoke tote bags being loved and adored by 'The Only Way is Essex or TOWIE girls.' The website branches more into clothing and bags, but till has a section for bracelets and this website even has a baby section.
The good thing about this website is that you have almost free reign once you've chosen your item i.e t-shirt to then design it how you want and then a quote is drawn up alongside your specification. This brings a good market for personalised clothing and bags and as the website says 'Spread the Sparkle' as they do their best to meet expectations http://www.powercouture.co.uk/
 Some of their previously made items, showing the free reign you have in designing, and if you get stuck they can always make something for you if you give them a brief idea or concept that you're going for.

These four unique designers have teamed up to work together to grow their businesses every so often they throw competitions on twitter, revolving around re-tweeting the four names with a certain phrase and the winner can bag a piece form each.
